چکیده

Albert Einstein once said that he does not believe in a God who plays dice. He was referring to the fundamental principle that quantum theory permits only statistical assertions concerning the values of physical quantities. This issue, namely, whether the description of Nature in statistical terms is complete or even consistent, was the subject of a very lively debate-dialogue between Einstein and Niels Bohr in the years 1920-1930. Nowadays there is no debate as the principles of quantum theory have been verified countless times in experiments. In this lecture (which requires no previous background) I shall discuss both classical and quantum probabilities. Although the meaning of probability remains the same in both contexts, the method of calculating them is different. I shall explain the strange but beautiful manner in which quantum probabilities are calculated, explaining the mathematical foundations in an elementary manner. The meaning of probability

MATHEMATICAL MODELLING FOR DICE FINDER GAME PROBLEM

Play is often episodic and mission-centric, with a series of challenges culminating in a final puzzle or enemy that must be overcome. Multiple missions played with the same characters may be related to each other in a plot arc of escalating challenges. The exact tone, structure, pace and end (if any) vary from game to game depending on the needs and preferences of the players, as in [9]. "THE C...

Vortex ordering in fully-frustrated superconducting systems with dice lattice

The structure and the degeneracy of the ground state of a fully-frustrated XY -model are investigated for the case of a dice lattice geometry. The results are applicable for the description of Josephson junction arrays and thin superconducting wire networks in the external magnetic field providing halfinteger number of flux quanta per plaquette. The mechanisms of disordering of vortex pattern i...

Vortex correlations in a fully frustrated two-dimensional superconducting network

– We have investigated the vortex state in a superconducting dice network using the Bitter decoration technique at several magnetic frustrations f = φ/φ0=1/2 and 1/3. In contrast to other regular network geometries where the existence of a commensurate state was previouly demonstrated, no ordered state was observed in the dice network at f = 1/2 and the observed vortex-vortex correlation length...

Quantum dice rolling: a multi-outcome generalization of quantum coin flipping

The problem of quantum dice rolling (DR)—a generalization of the problem of quantum coin flipping (CF) to more than two outcomes and parties— is studied in both its weak and strong variants. We prove by construction that quantum mechanics allows for (i) weak N -sided DR admitting arbitrarily small bias for any N and (ii) two-party strong N -sided DR saturating Kitaev’s bound for any N . To deri...
